At the Marlow surgery, we offer our Rapid Access Clinic for patients with an urgent medical need to be seen which cannot wait for a routine consultation. This service is provided on a sit-and-wait basis within a grouped time slot.
We do not operate as a walk in clinic or give individual appointment times. You must ring and book onto the clinic list to then be seen by a GP, Paramedic or Minor Illness Nurse. We cannot guarantee by which healthcare professional you will be seen.
Consultations are triaged for medical priority by clinical staff and as you will appreciate, patients may not be seen in the order they arrived. As demand for this service cannot be anticipated in advance waiting times may exceed one hour.
The receptionist will ask you to provide a brief description of your symptoms which will allow the clinicians to decide who is most suited to treat you.
Patients requiring an urgent appointment at the Lane End Surgery will be offered a same day consultation either with a doctor or a minor illness nurse.
Please help us to help you by managing minor illnesses at home – don’t forget your pharmacist can help with many minor problems.
