Covid Vaccination Update – 10 November 21

Marlow Medical Group (MMG) with Arc Bucks Primary Care Network have now run  weekly COVID booster vaccination clinics at Adams Park football stadium on 15, 22, 29 October and 5 November.  The clinics will continue to run every Friday until 17 December 2021.

It has been great having the team back together again (practice staff and our trusty volunteers) and we slipped back into it like a well-oiled machine.   Since re-starting we have administered 3140 booster and third dose vaccinations.

The process is a little different this time in that invites and bookings will be done via the NHS 119 National Booking system

You are eligible for a COVID booster if you are a frontline health or social care worker, aged 50 and over or aged 16 and over with a health condition that puts you at high risk from COVID-19.   You will be able to make the booking for your booster 5 months after your 2nd vaccination but your vaccination can’t be given until 6 months (182 days) since your 2nd dose of the vaccine.

Letters have been sent to immuno-compromised patients who are eligible for a third covid vaccination.  For the third vaccination to be effective it must be administered as directed by your hospital consultant who will take into consideration your current treatment plan.   If you have not been written to by your hospital consultant please contact them asking to receive such a letter.  This is needed for the practice to invite you.  If you have received a letter invite but are not under the care of a hospital consultant, please let the practice know and we will triage you to confirm a third vaccination is required.  Third vaccination patients will be eligible to receive a booster vaccination 6 months (182 days) after their third vaccination.

This week we have started our care home vaccinations and are now planning how to vaccinate our patients who are registered as housebound.   We appreciate your patience.  It is a complex logistical exercise to ensure that vaccine can be transported and utilised within the expiry time.
