Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)

Advanced Nurse Practitioners are experienced registered Nurses who have undertaken a Masters degree in clinical assessment. Our ANP’s are able to clinically assess, diagnose, prescribe and treat patients that may have traditionally seen a doctor. Our Advanced Nurse Practitioners usually work on the Rapid Access Clinic, assessing those with acute illness.

Nurse Practitioner

Nurse Practitioners are experienced registered Nurses who have done extra training and academic qualification to be able to clinically assess, diagnose, prescribe and treat patients that may have traditionally seen a doctor. Our Nurse Practitioners usually work on the Rapid Access Clinic, assessing those with acute illness.

Practice Nurse

A General Practice Nurse is a registered nurse who assesses, screens and treats people of all ages, including babies, children and adults in addition to providing traditional aspects of nursing care such as wound care, immunisations, vaccinations, Cervical cytology sampling and hold clinics for patients with Long Term Conditions such as asthma, heart disease and diabetes. Practice Nurses can also offer health advice in areas such as contraception, weight loss and smoking cessation in addition to emphasis on promoting Women’s and Men’s health.

Health Care Assistant (HCA’s)

HCAs are trained to undertake specific clinical procedures, such as blood pressure, ECGs, B12, flu, shingles and pneumonia injections, dressings, sutures, clip removals, urine analysis, height and weight recording and conduct health checks such as NHS health checks, Long Term Condition (LTC) reviews and contraceptive pill checks.
